El Tecolote District (Porphyry Copper & Skarn Copper-Zinc)
- Azure holds 100% ownership over a 600km2 district highly prospective for large porphyry copper and skarn copper-zinc deposits
- Major Japanese Government-owned mining corporation in two exploration joint ventures with Azure in this district
- Diamond drilling undertaken by Azure on all 3 properties has identified both porphyry copper and skarn copper-zinc mineralisation
El Tecolote Project
- JOGMEC (Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation) can earn a 70% interest by sole funding US$13M of exploration expenditure
- Contains historical El Tecolote Copper-Zinc-Silver Mine, a skarn deposit with production of 1.4 million tonnes @ 1.9% copper, 7.0% zinc and 47g/t silver
- Excellent brownfields potential for copper-zinc mineralisation surrounding the mine and additional skarn deposits (eg at the Reyna del Cobre Prospect)
- Porphyry copper potential shown by presence of altered porphyry with quartz vein stockwork, oxidised sulphides and copper oxide mineralisation located 4km south of the mine.
- Azure undertaking geophysical surveys (aeromagnetics, VTEM and IP), geological mapping and sampling, and diamond drilling
- Diamond drilling at the Reyna del Cobre Prospect intersects 11.0m @ 1.3% Copper, 3.0% Zinc, 7.1g/t Silver, 17.2g/t Indium & 31.9% Iron in massive sulphide skarn mineralisation
La Tortuga & Los Nidos Project
- JOGMEC can earn a 51% interest by sole funding US$3M of exploration expenditure
- Diamond drilling (13 holes for 4,560m) intersected porphyry and skarn hosting disseminated and veinlet sulphides containing anomalous copper, molybdenum, zinc & silver grades
- Best drill intercept of 159.6m @ 0.2% copper & 0.2% zinc of skarn mineralisation from surface
San Eduardo Project
- Prospective for porphyry copper deposits and high grade breccia and skarn hosted copper-zinc mineralisation
- Numerous historical mine workings throughout the property, untested by modern exploration
- Surface sampling returned grades to 3.3% Copper & 11.3% Zinc
- Deep diamond drilling (1 hole to 600m) intersected wide zones of strongly altered and quartz veined porphyry containing substantial quantities of pyrite, with minor amounts of copper oxide and copper sulphide mineralisation
- Numerous targets will be followed up with further exploration, including drilling
